St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation was founded on the principles of responding in a just manner to basic human needs. The foundation is the legacy of the Sisters of St. Francis who arrived in Minot in 1914. Their mission of caring for an individual as a whole still resonates today through St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation. The mission of SJCHF is to promote healthy and sustainable communities by providing financial gifts, strengthening collaborative relationships and supporting local initiatives that impact the mental, physical and spiritual well-being of residents in the counties of Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Ward and Wells. The Foundation also serves as a resource and catalyst to promote and stimulate voluntary financial support especially in the building of endowments that will address the long-term needs of communities in North Dakota.
2019 Grant Luncheon March 14
The annual Grant Luncheon will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, 11:30 am at the Grand Hotel. This brings our total gifts distributed to 7.6 million dollars. The luncheon is open to the public and provides an opportunity to hear about programs and projects that address the mental, physical, spiritual and emotional needs being addressed in our region. Twice Blessed results January 31, 2019
Half A Million dollars distributed by St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation to area organizations
St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation distributed checks totaling $557,660.37 to 42 area agencies on January 31, 2019. The agencies participated in the second annual Twice Blessed matching gift program, held November 15 – December 31, 2018. Twice Blessed is a local matching gift program created and hosted by St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation to double gifts given to prequalified agencies. Gifts and the matching grant funds are available for projects that address the mental, physical, emotional and/or spiritual needs of residents in the counties of Bottineau, Burke, McHenry, McLean, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Ward and Wells.
Contributors could visit one website -twiceblessednd.com- to learn about the mission and goals of each of the area organizations participating in the program. They could donate through the website or by sending contributions directly to the Foundation or to the participating organizations. No gift was too small, and gifts were matched accordingly, with 4 different levels up to a grand match total of $250,000 provided by St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation.
St. Joseph’s Community Health Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) public charity community foundation formed in June of 1998. The Foundation has awarded over $7.3 million in grants to organizations for many worthwhile projects to assist with programs that address quality of life issues in our communities.
